These event days put the “WOW factor” back into Chemistry (and the many related sciences) and provide staff development opportunities for companies. They go well beyond the traditionally perceived boundaries of Chemistry and demonstrate that Chemistry is everywhere; “Thinking is Brain Chemistry!” Sponsored by the Royal Society of Chemistry since 1991, these events show students the possibilities available in different careers, through short and varied demonstrations. The students see how chemistry, and science in general, is part of everyday life and the world of work, both locally and abroad, while the organisations taking part enhance their image in the community, their staff development and their future recruitment possibilities.
Chemistry at Work
The National Scene “Chemistry at Work” events are supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry. They help school students to appreciate the place of chemistry in everyday life and the world of work.
